The EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM Lens is ideal for sports and wildlife photography. The newly designed optical system has one fluorite element and two UD-glass elements to obtain high resolution and high contrast.
Canon announces the development of a new super-telephoto lens for its leading range of Canon EOS Digital SLR cameras - the Canon EF 600mm F/4L IS II USM. Developed as part of Canon’s acclaimed L-series of professional lenses, the new Canon 600mm lens will achieve new and advanced levels of image quality. The new telephoto lens will include the highest quality components, featuring high specification Image Stabilizer technology alongside the use of optical materials such as Fluorite, to correct aberrations ensuring high resolution images rich in detail and contrast.
Succeeding the widely-respected Canon 600mm F/4L IS USM, the new Canon EF 600mm F/4L IS II USM lens is being developed for photographers who require high performance, fast aperture and a longer focal length. The redesigned, lightweight lens body will provide added mobility alongside enhanced protection against dust and water, making it ideal for the toughest shooting conditions.
Dust and water sealing keeps the lens functioning even in less than ideal conditions, and a Power Focus mode allows smooth focus change while shooting video.
